Virtually all communities have sought to assist their members in difficult times using cultural and religious beliefs. In a 1996 USA Today survey, almost 80% of Americans felt that faith could help in recovery from illness. But not all of our clients seek religious or spiritual-based counseling and such issues are specifically addressed only when the client brings them up, which occurs in about 20% of our cases
